BJP wins the Northeast state elections in Tripura, Meghalaya, and Nagaland, securing a significant victory for the party in the region.

🔍 Facts:

The BJP has won the majority of seats in the Tripura, Meghalaya, and Nagaland state elections.

In Tripura, the BJP has won 37 of the 50 seats, while the opposition Congress secured 12 seats and the CPI(M) only one seat.

In Meghalaya, the BJP has emerged as the single largest party with 21 seats out of 60, followed by the NPP with 16 seats and Congress with 11 seats.

In Nagaland, the BJP has won 24 out of 60 seats, while the NPF, which had been in power for the last two terms, has won only 18 seats.

The BJP's victory in these states is seen as a significant boost for the party's ambitions to expand its presence in the Northeast region of India.

The results of these state elections have implications for national politics, particularly as the BJP-led government faces opposition criticism over its handling of various issues, including the ongoing farmer protests and the COVID-19 pandemic.

The voter turnout in all three states was high, with Nagaland recording the highest turnout of 85.41%.
